Snowmaggedon 2016

A little holiday spirit to start of January, at the annual BYC membership cocktail party.

And then it snowed.

And snowed. Snow like we haven't had in six years. 28 inches of snow.

So there were snow igloos and hills to conquer.
The ace shoveling team taking a well-deserved break.
Once we finally dug out, three days after the first flakes fell, we headed to BYC for some sledding.

Grandma brought treats for all ages.
Here's hoping it's 2022 before we see similar snow totals.

Kicking off 2016...

We headed to Pennsylvania for some wintertime fun at the Omni Bedford Springs.
It was chilly but sunny so a hike was on the agenda.

Fun on the swing...

A fun family weekend to kick off the new year.

The 26-Hour Christmas

We did it. Well at least 3/4 of the Hornes did. We managed to make Christmas Day last 26 hours.
The trick?
Celebrate Christmas morning at home in Baltimore, then fly to Arizona midday, landing in time for dinner and gifts.
Kacy was sad she didn't make the carry on cutoff.
Kacy and Daniel were super-excited to be reunited with their cousins Will and Sadie.

Stocking stuffers provided incognito opportunities.

We took our traditional trip to McDonald's Ranch in Scottsdale to see a man about a horse. The kids loved their first trail ride.

In N' Out Burger is always a west coast must.
The nutjobs insisted on swimming (in the hot tub) despite temps not breaking in to the 60s. (It was warmer in Baltimore than in Scottsdale during our visit, of course.)

A trip to Old Scottsdale for sight seeing and shopping.
And finally, a stop at McCormick Stillman Railroad Park for some play.

It was another great Christmas week in the desert....a great way to finish out an epic 2015.
Here's to our 2016 adventures!

Our (Very Warm) Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve....70 degrees and not a lick of snow. Our kind of holiday.

The big man did not disappoint again this year....he made an appearance on his busiest night of the year at Grandma and Grandpa's.

Everyone getting time on Santa's lap.
