It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas....

Visits with Santa are becoming the norm as we near the mid-December mark.

First visit was at BYC this weekend.
The four eldest Horne cousins were gracious enough to let the papparazzi snap some photos.

This was followed by breakfast with Santa this morning at the Gaylord National Harbor. The festivities began last night with a visit to their Ice exhibit. Other that the 10 degree temperatures, it was fantastic. Keeping it that cold is a good way to not melt the intricate ice sculptures, and ensures that no visitors dawdle their way through the tent.

There was even an ice slide to enjoy.

We then ventured down the harbor a bit to try out the Capital Wheel, which just opened this spring. Thankfully, the gondolas are climate-controlled, after our icey adventure prior.

Breakfast this morning did not disappoint. And the kids were thrilled to be 2nd in line to speak with the big man again. The line looked a bit like the one in the department store scene of "A Christmas Story". We were lucky. We got Santa when he was good and fresh.

The hotel was of course decked out for the holiday, the kids enjoyed a little hotel sleepover action, and of course, getting to skip school.

Here's hoping Santa's sack is big enough to hold their wish list come Christmas Eve,

Kacy Turns The Big 8

Who's excited that she turned eight years old yesterday? This girl. We can't believe she is eight already.

We hosted a birthday party on Saturday at the yacht club. There were challenges, including a fun donut-eating contest. (Note to mom: Next time, get powdered donuts, not glazed. That or bring baby wipes for face-cleaning post-event.)

Just in case enough sugar wasn't consumed during the donut and other contests, there was cake, in the style of "Frozen" of course.
More pictures to come.....from the party and the "big day" (yesterday).

Kacy is an amazing, funny and sassy girl. She is great with the one-liner and just loves to have fun. We couldn't ask for anything more. Happy birthday, Kacy Claire!

Halloween 2014

We started off the Halloween festivities with a party at the club the Saturday before. The weather was perfect for trick-or-treating on the docks, after some fun games. And lots of candy consumption.
 There was of course Elsa...
And what Daniel deemed "scary zombie skeleton". Completely, 100% his costume choice.
With cousins Caleb and Katrina.
Grandma with mini Superman Henry at his first BYC Halloween party.
Relaxing post dock trick-or-treating.
The kids and Dave got into (really into) decorating the house this year.

Ready for official trick or treating on Halloween night.
We hit up a friend's neighborhood for a change of pace.

Stowaways

We were stowaways (welcome ones) aboard Memory Maker earlier this month for a cruise across the Chesapeake Bay to Worton Creek Marina. The weather had turned fall-like just in time for our cruise.

Road Trip!

We took our dapper selves and headed north to Connecticut to visit friends for the weekend.
Kacy and Daniel enjoyed spending time with Katy and Tyler Maduri, and their (ever-patient) dog, Maguire.
The focal point of the weekend was celebrating the birthday of some of our favorite twins, Mike and Chris Maduri.
Chris and Lyla were nice enough to let us crash at their pad for the weekend.
It was so good spending a night kid-free and with some really good friends whom we don't get to see nearly enough.
