Florida Adventures

The kids can officially check Magic Kingdom off their list.
They flew down to Orlando with Grandma last week and she took them to see Mickey and friends while mom worked.
She's really working for her "Best Grandma Ever" coffee mug.
The kids were sufficiently tuckered out come Friday night.

Saturday called for some downtime and pool time.

Too much fun on the lazy river.
Sunday we headed east to the beach. The kids loved playing in the waves on Cocoa Beach and visiting with Aunt Carol and Uncle Sam.

We headed over to Legoland for the day Monday. It was hot but a lot of fun.

Tuesday, it was another pool day. The Gaylord Palms was a ton of fun.
The outdoor water park was amazing.
Along the way, Grandpa made his way down to Florida too. The kids and I celebrated our last night in Orlando with a beautiful sunset dinner at the Reunion Resort.

Memorial Day Shenanigans

After some epic snow, and a long, wet spring... we were ready to ring in the unofficial start to summer.

So on to the boat we moved (literally) for the weekend.

Sunset on the hill never disappoints.

And the pool water is NEVER too cold for Kacy.

Fishing was on the agenda as well.

There was even some catching involved. For Kacy, her big hit was a large catfish.

Some friends came to play and we hit up Pizza John's for some sustainance.

We made it back to the club in time to hear our favorite "club" band play, Oracle.

Good weather and good friends....great long weekend.

Williamsburg Trip

We had a fun weekend visiting Susie and Byron in Williamsburg in late April. We brought our friend Jack along for the adventure.

After all these years, we just figured out there is a beach on the "compound", on the banks of the James River.
And so we spent the afternoon there the next day. Perfect summer beach day.
As always, we have to  make trip to CW (Colonial Williamsburg) to see what is new. Or old, as it were.

Hersheypark, Spring 2016 Edition

We made our pilgrimage to the land of chocolate in April, with our friends the Mansolillos.

Roller coasters were the order of the day. Kacy is definitely a junkie. Daniel is slowly warming up to them.

Tea cups...

Kacy took Jack on the Sooper Dooper Looper for his first time. A few more times and he'll be as hooked as Kacy.

It was a great day....

The Landing Beaches of Normandy

From Caudebec, we journeyed by bus about 2 1/2 hours to Point du Hoc, the American Cemetery and Omaha Beach.

It was an honor to pay respects to so many who lost their lives fighting for what we can sometimes take for granted: freedom.

April in Paris...

We got to live the cliche....well technically we arrived in Paris in March, and ventured up the Seine River away from Paris for most of the trip....
But April in Paris was wonderful.

So it rained our first two days....paying our dues I guess for decent weather the rest of the week.
Eiffel Tower and Montmarte were on the docket for the front-end Paris days.

Once the whole gang arrived (104 cats to herd in total) we boarded the AmaLegro and set sail from Paris up the River Seine.

We took a detour before setting off to see the Eiffel Tower at night. Check that off the bucket list.
Our first stop was Vernon, and we took a tour of Monet's beautiful gardens and home in Giverny.

The next morning we arrived in Caudebec and journeyed to the gorgeous port city of Honfleur. Mussels, frites and cider beer were the order of the day.

The second part of the journey to come....
