We hit the road (or the air, as it were) and took a quick trip to Florida for Easter. Boots and GranDan have a condo there for the month, and so we made ourselves right at home.
As an extra bonus, cousin Will introduced us to his brand new baby sister, Sadie LoRaye.
Kacy was happy to help with Sadie-holding duty.
There was a trip to play some mini golf. Along the way, there was the chance to feed some seriously-overfed alligators.
Daniel's club-holding technique clearly needs some work. Will's on the other hand is PGA-worthy.
Back at the condo, we had some wildlife visitors daily.
The Easter Bunny found us in Bradenton, not to worry.
The big bunny left fun hats for all.
B&G with Sadie on Easter Sunday.
The beach for lunch was in order on Monday.
It was a wonderful weekend that ended too quickly. We hope everyone had a great Easter!

Spring Fun Part 2: Sunday Funday at Camden Yards
The gorgeous weather continued this weekend, and we got to see the Orioles take on the Blue Jays on Sunday afternoon.
Alas they lost, but we had a fun day in the sun.
Dave was pretty proud of his photo bombing abilities on this one.
They are calling for snowbursts tonight (really?) so it truly is the winter that doesn't seem to want to end. But after this weekend's summer-like temps....we see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Happy spring!

Spring Fun Part 1: Cherry Blossom Festival
After a relaxing Saturday morning at home, we headed south for the day to take in the annual Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC.
While at the tent, a band from Japan was also there waiting to go on stage. We told Kacy they are the One Direction of Japan. She totally bought it.
The trip involved a Metro ride, which the kids were very excited about.
We had tickets to the Chairman's VIP tent for the Cherry Blossom festival so we got to partake in some fun Japanese food and drink. The kids' lunch consisted of Japanese snack items and a soda made with real sugar that required a PhD in physics to open.

Walking through the festival we came upon what could only be the Jimmy Jones of the Japanese Nascar circuit.
To round out the day (and to try and get away from some of the crowds) we headed over to the National Mall. We didn't get as far as the Tidal Basin but rumor has it the cherry blossoms were in full bloom.

Spring Has Sprung
Well here we are in April. It's going to be yet another busy spring in Casa Horne!
First things first: we are gearing up for the Easter Bunny.
But to backtrack just a bit...
Kacy and Daniel have enjoyed getting to know new cousin Henry.
Daniel is starting to pride himself on his version of the "photo bomb". And Henry is not floating, it's just Aunt Mary trying to make it a "kids only" photo.

Kacy got into the St. Patty's Day spirit at mom's work convention.
Just a short entry to let you all know yes, we are still here. Happy spring!!!!

Out of Hibernation!
Apparently we win the slacker of the first quarter award.
No posts since December 31?
Unprecedented.
Here is a brief recap of the last few months.

Here is a brief recap of the last few months.
It's been cold. We've spent a lot of time indoors.
Our friend Jack had an awesome Minion/Lego-themed 7th birthday party.
There were some fun selfies.
On one of our many snowy/cold days, Kacy decided it was "fancy dress" night at dinner. She enjoyed juice in a fancy glass.
We went to the movies to break things up a bit. Daniel consumed so much popcorn he declared his tummy hurt halfway through the movie.
In January, as the "great wait" for baby cousin Horne continued, Kacy enjoyed helping make Pinterest-inspired tea cups for Aunt Alyssa's baby shower.
There were plenty of treats for all.
Lots of tea, too.
With the shower in the rearview, the only item left on the check list was for baby to arrive. Boy? Girl?

Henry George Horne arrived Saturday, March 8, 2014.

Aunt Mary with the newest Horne.
And that, dear readers, if your quick recap of the first part of this year.
As the weather gets warmer (let's hope that spring DOES actually arrive) we'll have more fun stuff to post about. We can't wait to get out of hibernation.
